Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation that began as Tazewell County Development Corporation in 1965. A Board of Directors composed of representatives of the community administers the agency. All members of the board serve without pay because of their concern for the community.
Robin Boyd serves as the Executive Director in charge of the daily operations of the agency. Programs operated through CVCA include, Head Start, Family Crises Services, Project Discovery, Judicial Services, Weatherization, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Senior Companion Program, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, Rental Prevention Program, Camp Joy, and Special Projects Department.
