Clinch Valley Community Action is a private non-profit corporation established in 1965. The primary service area is Tazewell County with limited services provided in Russell and Buchanan counties. CVCA is locally managed and governed by a Board of Directors for the purpose of reducing poverty and promoting self-sufficiency of the poor. One third of the Board are local elected officials or their designees, one third are representatives of local business or civic organizations and one third are low income representatives.

CVCA brings a cross-section of the community together to address the needs of low income citizens.
